Carbon Collective Nero is a self-healing ceramic coating with diamond particles that combines classic ceramic protection with a self-healing effect – minor micro-scratches can be smoothed out by heat, whether from the sun or hot water. It lasts for at least 5 years, or up to 7 years when combined with the Molecule base layer.

How self-healing works

Heat temporarily increases the mobility of the molecules in the coating, allowing minor surface marks and micro-scratches—such as those from fingernails or light abrasion—to smooth themselves out. It is not a miracle cure for deep scratches that penetrate the paint, but it works reliably for daily micro-scratches caused by washing and driving.

Nero is primarily designed for paint, but you can just as easily complement your Carbon Collective protection on wheels (Platinum Wheels) and glass (Platinum Glass), ensuring your entire car receives the same level of care.

Instructions for use

1. Wash the car with a high-quality car shampoo and perform chemical decontamination (iron, tar), or use a clay bar if necessary.
2. Rinse, dry, and lightly polish and degrease the surface with Carbon Collective Panel Prep.
3. Apply to an applicator pad and spread in a crosshatch pattern over small areas – panel by panel.
4. Allow 2-3 minutes to haze, then wipe off with a clean microfiber towel (plan for 4 towels for the whole car).
5. Optionally, you can apply a second layer after 3-4 hours.
6. Allow the car to cure for 24 hours in a dry, warm place; wait at least 2 weeks before washing (rain is not an issue after this period).
