Cleaning of textile parts

Fabric seats, carpets, or headliners are among the most difficult interior parts to clean – dirt and stains work their way deep into the fibers, and surface wiping won't solve it.

In this category, you will find fabric cleaners designed for both dried stains and everyday dirt, as well as fabric guards that protect textiles against water, grease, and UV radiation, making future cleaning much easier – liquid on treated fabric tends to bead up rather than soak in immediately.

How to clean and protect fabric car interior parts

Unlike leather or plastic, fabric does not have a smooth surface that can be easily wiped down – dirt and stains work their way deep between the fibers, which is why they require different techniques and products than the rest of the interior.

Fabric cleaning

For fresh stains, a spray cleaner and a microfiber towel are enough; for dried or older dirt, it is worth using a combination of fabric shampooand a brush (see the leather and fabric brushes category), which will loosen the dirt embedded deep in the fibers before vacuuming.

Fabric impregnation (fabric guard)

A protective impregnation spray creates an invisible layer on the fibers, which keeps water and liquid dirt on the surface in droplets instead of soaking in immediately – this gives you more time to wipe away the stain before it has a chance to set into the fabric. At the same time, it protects the fabric color from fading due to UV radiation.

When to apply impregnation

It is best to apply it to freshly cleaned and dry fabric – on a dirty or greasy surface, the protective layer will not adhere evenly and will wear off quickly.

How often to clean and impregnate fabric

Routine cleaning as needed and based on soiling; it is sufficient to renew the impregnation approximately every 3–6 months, or more often for frequently used seats.
